I came to Jill frustrated and hopeless. As a menopausal woman I was on the “gain a pound a week” plan despite employing weight-loss efforts that had worked previously. I was terrified of resorting to medication. I had resolved not to do the extreme diet I had used about five years ago that left me very thin, but with a broken metabolism, inability to maintain the weight loss and little muscle and strength. Was it even possible to lose weight in a healthy way at my age? Yes! With Jill’s assistance I am in such a better place one year later. I have lost about 30 pounds while gaining muscle. It’s a way of eating and living that is comfortable and sustainable. I would have given up countless times if it was just me and the scale. Jill has more data, more information–she is able to help me see what is really going on in my body and tailors my program to meet my needs. I learn and am motivated to continue at every appointment, whether it’s been a “successful” week or not. I have energy and confidence to participate in a full life with my family and friends. One of my goals at the beginning of this journey was to have a positive effect on the culture of my family in regards to food, body gratitude and fitness. My husband jumped on board, has lost 30 pounds and has entered his 60’s in a vibrant way, even with the challenge of rehabilitating two knee replacements during this time. Each of my adult children has become more thoughtful about nutrition and activity, making positive efforts in their families.
